Police say man tried to steal cash from Keene store

KEENE - Police are looking for a man who attempted to rob a convenience store and deli in Keene Saturday night.

Keene police say they were called to My Place Market and Deli on North Street at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to investigate a robbery. Police say a white male, described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall and wearing a hooded jacket, dark pants, red gloves and a black ski mask, walked to an unattended cash register and attempted to take money from it.

When approached by a store clerk, the two engaged in what was described as a "brief physical confrontation" and the man exited the store without taking any items or money from the store.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Keene police at 357-9813.
