Counterfeit bills passed at doughnut shops in Manchester
Police said the first incident happened at 10:40 a.m. on Dec. 30 at Dunkin' Donuts at 4 Main St. The man exchanged two, $20 bills in a transaction with a clerk. The bills were later determined to be counterfeit.
A week later, just before 3 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Dunkin' Donuts located inside Catholic Medical Center, the same man passed $80 in counterfeit bills in a transaction with a clerk. Police said all six bills have the same distinguishing characteristic, linking both incidents. Investigators seized the counterfeit 20s as evidence.
The man who passed the bills is described as a white, 30- to 40-year-old man with a "scruffy face" and mustache. He was wearing a black, hooded jacket and a black knit hat with a small white emblem on the front. He also wore black pants.
