Homeless man charged with attempted armed robbery

January 14. 2013 9:20PM

CHRISTOPHER WOOD

HUDSON - A homeless man was charged with attempting to rob a local market, police said, after officers noticed a resemblance between the motorist and the description of a would-be robber at Palmer's Market.

Christopher Wood, 47, was charged with attempted armed robbery, Hudson police said. He refused bail and was taken to the Valley Street jail in Manchester.

Police said the attempt took place about 9 a.m. Saturday at Palmer's, which is located at 76 Lowell Road. The robber handed the clerk a note demanding money. He showed no weapon and left the store without getting any cash.

Police found Wood in his car about 8 p.m. Sunday close to the scene of the robbery. He told them he was living out of his car.
