Council approves special election for Manchester Ward 2 House seat

CONCORD - The Executive Council approved a special election to fill a vacant Manchester Ward 2 House seat.

The seat has been vacant since December when Representative-elect Democrat Robert Thompson resigned because he moved to Florida.

The filing period will be from Jan. 21 to 25.

If more than one candidate files to run for their party's nomination, a primary election will be March 19 and the special election would be May 7. If there is no primary, the special election will be March 19.
