MANCHESTER - A bail revocation hearing is scheduled this morning for Anthony Petrin, 32, who is accused of violating bail conditions on a felony second-degree assault charge that alleges he attempted to strangle his ex-girlfriend at their 263 Massabesic St. residence Jan. 8.
Petrin was out on $5,000 cash/surety bail following his arraignment on the assault charge, with a probable cause hearing set for Feb. 6, when he allegedly twice drove past the Massabesic Street residence slowly Wednesday, once while the woman was on the second-floor porch, and a second time when he stopped for a long time at the nearby stop sign, where the woman took a photo of his vehicle.
Petrin pleaded innocent to a stalking charge and two charges of violation of a protective order Thursday morning and trial on those charges was set for March 4.
Charges dropped
Jennifer Leo Chickering, 29, of 210 Beech St., who was arrested at Circuit Court-Manchester District Division Wednesday and charged with stalking, was back in Circuit Court on Thursday on that charge and earlier simple assault charges.
Chickering was in court Wednesday for arraignment on charges of simple assault that alleged she shoved her husband, Jacob, with both hands and slapped a telephone from his hand. She had been released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail, with conditions barring contact with her husband and barring her from the Beech Street address, with arraignment Wednesday.
When police prosecutors saw her sitting with her husband in court Wednesday, with his arm around her shoulder as she awaited arraignment on the assault charges, she was arrested for stalking.
Jacob Chickering, who said he wanted to drop the charges, had to be removed from the courtroom because of his behavior upon learning of her new arrest. Because stalking is a violation of bail conditions, police prosecutors filed a motion to revoke Jennifer's bail.
In court Thursday, Jacob, again said he wanted to drop the charges and said Jennifer was needed at home. He said the couple, together since 2005, have a newborn who depends on breast milk because of a stomach problem and Jacob said he had just given the baby the last bottle of breast milk from the refrigerator. Jacob said he just lost his job and his wife would lose hers if she wasn't released.
After negotiations between defense attorney Ray Raimo and domestic violence prosecutor Andrea Lamy, the assault charges were dropped and the stalking charge was conditionally dropped, with the condition being Jennifer's good behavior for the next year.
Knife figured in threat
Rachelle MacDonald, 24, of 372 Amherst St., could enter no plea Thursday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a felony charge of criminal threatening, so a probable cause hearing was set for Jan. 31.
MacDonald is accused of entering a locked room, after a fight, and approaching Michael Dunton with a knife held in an overhand position at shoulder height.
A police prosecutor successfully sought $10,000 cash/surety bail for MacDonald, who was convicted twice in 2012 and once in 2011 on drug possession charges. Bail conditions include no contact with Dunton.

A woman who pleaded innocent to simple assault Tuesday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division and was scheduled for trial March 28, was arraigned Thursday on new charges of simple assault and stalking.
Because the conditions of Ann Polichronopoulos' original $1,000 personal recognizance bail prohibited contact with the alleged victim, her boyfriend, police prosecutors filed a motion to revoke her bail and a hearing is scheduled for this morning.
Polichronopoulos, 51, of 64 Eastwind Drive, is accused of calling the alleged victim and of going to his place of work and hitting him on the arms.
Trial on the new charges was also set for March 28.

Marko Gae, 26, of 57 Ahern St., Thursday asked Circuit Court-Manchester District Division Judge William Lyons for personal recognizance bail on a felony drug charge. Gae was arrested Wednesday for allegedly having oxycodone in his possession.
Lyons said Gae's criminal record, which includes convictions for drug possession and violation of bail conditions, bars personal recognizance bail on the new drug charge. But he did reduce the requested $5,000 cash/surety bail to $3,000 cash/surety.
Gae could enter no plea to the felony in Circuit Court, so a probable cause hearing was set for Jan. 31.
