Updated: Nashua woman charged in crash that downed Hudson utility pole

HUDSON -- A segment of Route 102 remained closed Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck a utility pole during the morning.

Shortly before 9 a.m. police responded to a single-vehicle crash near 50 Derry St.

According to police, a 2004 Buick LeSabre driven by Nashua resident Stephanie Ramos, 20, apparently had been travelling north when it veered into the southbound lane, striking a curb before crossing the sidewalk and hitting the pole.

Ramos, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was treated at the scene for minor injuries, Hudson Police Sgt. Tad Dionne said. She was arrested for impaired driving.

After posting $1,000 personal recognizance bail, Ramos was released.

She will face charges of driving while intoxicated and a yellow line violation in Nashua 9th Circuit Court on Feb. 7.

Ramos’ vehicle, which sustained heavy front-end damage and damage to all four tires and wheels, was towed from the scene.

The utility pole was heavily damaged, and due to the danger presented by downed wires, police closed the section of road between Ledge and Cummings roads.

Police urged motorists to seek alternate routes through Tuesday evening.
