A Vermont man was found dead in his seat when a Dartmouth Coach bus arrived at South Station in Boston Wednesday morning.
Authorities said the 78-year-old man's death does not appear suspicious.
The man boarded the bus in Lebanon, N.H., about 7:55 a.m. and was found unresponsive when it arrived in Boston about 10 a.m., said Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley.
Officials withheld his name until they contacted his family.
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority transit police are investigating the death with Conley's office, Superintendent-in-Chief Joseph O'Connor said.
Dartmouth Coach runs buses daily from Hanover, N.H. to South Station and Logan International Airport. Besides Hanover, it stops in Lebanon and New London.
In 2011, authorities found an Arizona man dead in the bathroom of bus that arrived in South Station from New Hampshire. His death also was not considered suspicious.
