Manchester woman charged in sex assault of teen

MANCHESTER - A city woman could enter no plea Wednesday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a charge of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Patricia Lanier, 44, of 550 Lincoln St., is accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy on more than one occasion between Sept. 29 and Nov. 29, 2012.

Bail was set at $25,000 cash/surety, with conditions barring contact with the teen and barring Lanier from going to a specific Pine Street address.

A probable cause hearing was set for Feb. 4.

Gun allegedly used in threat

Luis Rivera, 29, of 527 Wilson St., could enter no plea Wednesday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a felony charge of criminal threatening that alleges he pulled a gun from his waistband and told his ex-girlfriend: "I'm going to put it inside your mouth so you will stop talking about my family."

Rivera pleaded innocent to a simple assault charge involving the woman at her Anthony Street residence on Tuesday.

A probable cause hearing on the felony was set for Feb. 18, and trial on the misdemeanor was set for April 29.

Bail was continued at $2,000 cash/surety, with conditions barring contact with the alleged victim and barring him from the Anthony Street address.

Says weapon wasn't on him

Michael Francis, 25, of 452 Pine St., who is charged with being a felon in possession of a weapon told Circuit Court-Manchester District Division Judge Gregory Michael: "When I was arrested, I'm pretty sure I didn't have a firearm on me."

Police said the weapon was found when a search warrant was executed.

Police prosecutor Carissa Pelletier sought $10,000 cash/surety bail. She said Francis was convicted of the same felony charge last February. She said he has also been convicted of first-degree assault and possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Francis said he is currently at the New Hampshire State Prison. Pelletier said she believes it is for a parole violation.

A probable cause hearing on the felony charge was set for Feb. 5.

Attempted beer theft

Joseph Silver, 18, of 100 Union St., could enter no plea Wednesday in Circuit Court-Manchester District Division to a felony robbery charge, so a probable cause hearing was set for Feb. 5.

Police said Silver and another male entered the Z&J Convenience store at 266 Bridge St., shortly before 10 p.m. Tuesday, and Silver's companion took a 30-pack of beer from the cooler and carried it toward the door.

When the clerk and a customer tried to stop the beer thief, police said Silver interfered, pushing the clerk and allowing his companion to escape with the beer, which police found strewn across Bridge Street.

Bail was set at $1,000 cash/surety for Silver, with a probable cause hearing set for Feb. 5.

Silver's companion is described as a white male, about 5-foot-9, about 165 pounds, wearing jeans and a dark jacket or sweatshirt with a hood.
