Derry Chinese School celebrates end of semester

DERRY – The Derry Chinese School recently celebrated the conclusion of its fall semester at the Marion Gerrish Community Center with performances from its students.

The school holds classes on Chinese language and culture at the community center on weekends for everyone from preschoolers to adults.
Entertainment during the celebration included music by Gao Hong Wei, who played the er hu, a two-stringed bowed instrument that is popular in traditional Chinese music.

The next semester at the school begins on Feb. 2.
