Brooke Vien scored a game-high 13 points and Katie Steeves finished with 10 as the Pittsfield High School girls' basketball team raised its Division IV record to 9-3 by beating Derryfield 48-24 on the road Wednesday night.
Pittsfield held Derryfield scoreless in the first quarter and led 23-5 at halftime. Gabby Bartlett and Bekah Adams each added six points for Pittsfield.
Hannah Menakaya led Derryfield with seven points. The loss dropped Derryfield's record to 4-7.
Boys' basketball
Profile 36, Lisbon 29: At Lisbon, Profile of Bethlehem outscored the Panthers 17-8 in the fourth quarter.
Pittsfield 52, Derryfield 51: At Pittsfield, guard Elias Doucette scored a game-high 26 points and Chris Perkins added 12 as Pittsfield improved its Division IV record to 8-2.
Derryfield had a chance to break a 48-48 tie near the end of regulation, but missed two free throws with 2.5 seconds to play. Mitch Green scored a team-high 14 for Derryfield, which fell to 7-2.
Boys' hockey
Kennett 4, Souhegan 1: At Conway, James Gallo and Nick Massa each had two assists as Kennett avenged a 3-1 setback to Souhegan of Amherst two weeks ago. First-period goals from Anthony LaRusso, Brad Canavari and Gallo gave Kennett a 3-0 lead. Souhegan tallied a power-play goal in the second period from Brendan Dix. Kennett answered with a third period power-play goal off the stick of Connor Todd.
Kennett goalie Josh Kondart had 17 saves. Both teams are now 8-3 in Division III.
Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes 4, Manchester West 0: At Laconia, Aidan Conn, Brendan Eldridge and Justin Klingler each collected their first varsity goal to help Mounltonborough/Inter-Lakes improve its Division III record to 5-4-1.
Cody Burns also scored for Moultonborough/Inter-Lakes, which received two assists from Tim Casey. Connor O'Neil stopped 11 shots to record his second shutout of the season. West goalie Josh Gagne made 23 saves, but the Blue Knights fell to 2-9-0.
Berlin 7, Hollis/Brookline 0: At Hudson, junior forward Connor Jewett scored five goals as Berlin improved its Division III record to 10-0. Berlin led 1-0 after one period and 5-0 entering the third.
