NHIAA Roundup: Kearsarge hockey doubles up on West

Kyle Valliere scored with one second remaining in overtime to give the Trinity of Manchester High School boys' hockey team a 3-2 victory over Manchester Central at Sullivan Arena on Saturday night.

Valliere's goal, his second of the game, came on a slap shot from above the right faceoff circle. Mitch Myers collected the only assist.

Both teams are now 6-3-1 in Division I.

The teams scored four goals in a span of 1:35 in the second period. Central's Devon Sprague opened the scoring, before Trinity took a 2-1 lead on goals by Myers and Valliere 18 seconds apart. Central's Tim Tetrault tied the contest 29 seconds later.

Pinkerton 8, Nashua South 4; At Nashua, the Astros scored five third-period goals to pull away and improve to 6-4-0 in Division I. Dominic Corsetto scored four goals for Pinkerton.

The loss dropped Nashua South to 0-11-0.

Kearsarge 6, West 3: At Andover, Kearsarge of Sutton netted two unanswered goals in the third period to secure this Division III victory.

Holding on to a one-goal lead entering the final period, scores by Steve Ricker and Will Aufrant iced the win, upping the Cougars record to 3-7. West dropped top 2-10 with the defeat.

Matt Pickman and Ricker eached scored twice for Kearsarge. Joey Cronin tallied two goals and John Roth scored for West while Alex Wright assisted on two scores.

West keeper Josh Gagne was busy, making 25 saves in the game. Kearsarge keeper Nate Thompson made some key saves in the final period, saving 19 overall.

Nashua North 5, Exeter 0: At Nashua, Jon Wilson scored twice to help the Titans raise their Division I record to 3-8-1. North led 1-0 after one period and 3-0 entering the third.

North goaltender Jake Genest made 15 saves to record his second shutout of the season. The loss dropped Exeter's record to 2-7-0.

Souhegan 5, Belmont-Gilford 4: At Nashua, Joe Nutting scored three goals, including the game-winning goal in overtime, as Souhegan improved its Division I record to 9-3-0.

Belmont-Gilford scored a power-play goal to take a 4-3 lead with 6:28 to play, but fell to 8-3-0.

Pembroke-Campbell 7, Alvirne 0: At Hooksett, Pembroke-Campbell recorded its first shutout of the season and raised its Division II record to 5-5-1. The loss dropped Alvirne's record to 2-8-0.

Girls' hockey

Bishop Guertin 4, Bishop Brady/Trinity 1: At Concord, Brittany Levasseur collected two goals and an assist to help the Cardinals improve to 8-3-0. Melissa Houge scored the lone goal for Bishop Brady/Trinity, which dropped to 4-7-0.
