NHIAA Roundup: Pinkerton girls improve to 11-0
Kayla Stacy scored a game-high 22 points and Pinkerton Academy remained the only unbeaten girls' basketball team in Division I by beating Merrimack 57-34 on the road Tuesday night.
The victory raised Pinkerton's record to 11-0.
Kaitlyn Petrocelli tossed in 12 for the Tomahawks, who dropped to 5-8.
Kate Cole added 11 for Merrimack.
Bishop Guertin 89, Trinity 36: At Manchester, Meghan Green scored 16 of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter to fuel the Cardinals, who improved to 10-1 in Division I. Megan Kerutis added 19 points as every BG player scored in the contest. Trinity (4-7) was led by freshman Ashley Hill, who tallied 10 points.
Bedford 67, Salem 52: At Salem, the Bulldogs won their seventh straight game to improve to 11-2 in Division I. Haley Driscoll had 11 points and 10 rebounds for Bedford.
Teammate Ali Glennon had nine points and 10 boards. McKenzie Brown had 14 points for Bedford and Rachel Collins netted 12.
Emily Hickey led Salem (6-5) with 18 points followed by 17 from Brenna Blakslee.
Nashua North 66, Keene 47: At Keene, Taylor Choate scored 24 points and Sarah Amrein added 12 as North improved to 10-1 in Division I. North outscored Keene 20-10 in the second quarter and led by 12 at halftime.
Ali Yeaw scored 16 for Keene, which dropped to 3-9.
Londonderry 78, Exeter 38: At Londonderry, Eliza Simpson scored a game-high 18 points and the Lancers made eight 3-pointers to raise their Division I record to 9-2. Casey Evans added 17 for Londonderry. Natalie Pollot led Exeter with 13.
Raymond 45, Kearsarge 36: At Raymond, after struggling through a seven-point first half, the Rams exploded for 38 second-half points to outlast Kearsarge.
Amanda McGee led the way with 13 points, and Bobbi Olivier netted 10. The Cougars' Anna Cahill led all scorers in the game with 17 points, including three 3-point field goals.
Goffstown 51, Souhegan 42: At Amherst, Rosalie Edmunds poured in 19 points and Brionne Turcotte added 13 as the Grizzlies improved to 9-3. Goffstown cemented the win with a 24-7 fourth period.
Bishop Brady 42, Winnisquam 35: At Tilton, Hannah Chapin scored a game-high 13 points and Angie Roy pulled down 12 rebounds to help Bishop Brady raise its Division III record to 11-1. Taylor Ongi (12) and Riselly Deoleo (11) led Winnisquam, which dropped to 9-5.
Groveton 49, Littleton 31: At Groveton, Becca Rogers scored a game-high 18 points to help Groveton end a two-game losing streak. Sadie Conroy and Makenna Burke each tossed in 10 points for Groveton, which improved its Division IV record to 10-3.
Littleton, which dropped to 11-2, received a team-high seven points from both Dori Horne and Bianca Verret.
Bedford 45, Salem 37: At Bedford, Sam Meservy led all scorers with 17 points and James Caparell added 10 to help Bedford improve its Division I record to 5-5. Bedford held Salem to 18 points through the first three quarters.
Michael Felix tossed in a team-high nine points for Salem, which fell to 2-7.
Exeter 68, Londonderry 45: At Exeter, Dan O'Keefe and Tyler Russ each finished with 12 points as the Blue Hawks moved their Division I record to 3-8. Max Medley added 11 for Exeter.
Marc Corey scored 10 to lead Londonderry, which fell to 3-6.
Dover 71, Manchester West 53: At Manchester, Billy Carroll scored 18 points and Green Wave teammate Phil Boyatsis added 17 as the visitors improved to 6-3 at the Quinn Gym. Dover burst to a 17-3 first-period lead before the Blue Knights offense got untracked. Nolan Flynn scored 12, and Zach Theriault and Zack Jones added 11 each for 1-8 West.
Souhegan 84, Goffstown 68: At Goffstown, the Grizzlies leading scorer, Jake Mount, suffered a head injury in the first quarter and was taken from the gymnasium by stretcher. Souhegan pressured Goffstown throughout and Grizzlies fatigue allowed the Sabers to pull away. Brandon Lynn led the winners with 37 points. Goffstown shooters, led by Tim Riehl and Rob White with 19 and 17 points apiece, connected on 10 three-point field goals.
Littleton 70, Groveton 46: At Groveton, senior forward Josh Bogardus scored a game-high 27 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Littleton raised its Division IV record to 11-1. Nick Whipple added 19 for Littleton.
Brandon Joy scored 12 for Groveton, which slipped to 5-6.
Gilford 60, Inter-Lakes 43: At Gilford, sparked by an offense that placed three players in double figures, the Golden Eagles improved to 10-1. Caleb Orton led the winners with 18 points. Josh Joyce added 13 and Rich Edson finished with 10. Shawn Mahoney netted 13 for the 4-8 Lakers, who trailed 24-18 a the half.
Merrimack 58, Pinkerton 42: At Derry, Merrimack's Eric Gendron lit up the Hackler Gym for 31 points including seven 3-pointers. Gendron scored 17 second-half points including 10 of his team's 14 in the third quarter, when Merrimack extended its lead to 39-26. Cam Welch led Pinkerton with 16 points. Merrimack improved to 7-3 in Divisin I, while Pinkerton fell to 2-7.
Alvirne 74, Timberlane 34: At Plaistow, Alvirne's Tyler Livington scored 22 points as the Broncos raised their Division I record to 6-4. Alvirne shot 55 percent from the field.
Thomas Johnston tossed in 11 for the Owls (0-11).
Bedford 9, Timberlane 1: At Goffstown, Brian Collins collected three goals as Bedford improved to 9-1-1 in Division I. The Bulldogs scored four second-period goals and led 5-1 entering the third. Eric Thornton scored for Timberlane (0-11-0).
