College Sports Roundup: Rivier rallies to tip Norwich

Garon Whitney's steal and dunk in the final seconds lifted Rivier College to a 51-50 triumph at Norwich University, and the Raiders clinched a playoff spot with a thrilling road win at Northfield, Vt., on Thursday. Whitney, of Dover High, grabbed a dozen rebounds as Rivier improved to 10-10 overall and 6-7 in the North Atlantic Conference.

Tom Poitras of Bow, a 6-foot-5 junior, scored 28 points to lead the Raiders, who trailed by seven points with 1:58 left in regulation.
