Dunigan named to ADA board of directors
The American Diabetes Association has named Jay Dunigan of Londonderry to the association's board of directors.
As a member, Dunigan is responsible for the oversight of the association's key strategic objectives. Additionally, he will work closely with the Association's volunteers and staff on initiatives in support of the organization's mission during his tenure.
Dunigan is president of Diabetes Strategies based in New Hampshire, where he consults with corporations working in the field of diabetes, especially in the diabetes technology arena and in understanding patient motivations. In addition, Dunigan is an actor whose work includes a principle role in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, "The Makeover," which aired on the ABC Television network on Jan. 27.
Perrella named senior commercial loan officer
Bellwether Community Credit Union (BCCU), has appointed Michael Perrella as senior commercial loan officer. In this role, Perrella is responsible for all aspects of commercial real estate and business lending at Bellwether.
Perrella has been active in the New Hampshire banking industry for 25 years. He most recently held the position of vice president at Bank of New England. At Bellwether, Perrella is responsible for business development and administration for commercial lending and investment real estate lending.
He lives in Bedford with his wife and three children.
Michaelis, Varley chosen as shareholders
Rath, Young and Pignatelli has named Kathryn H. Michaelis and Adam Varley as shareholders.
Michaelis joined the firm's tax practice group in 2007. She assists clients with state and local tax matters before the N.H. Department of Revenue Administration, the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, and the Vermont Department of Taxes.
Varley joined the firm's business and finance, financial institutions and healthcare practice groups in 2007. He focuses his practice on insurance, banking, healthcare and corporate law in assisting clients with regulatory, licensing, transactional and compliance issues.
Howell is named ABV champion
Bill Howell of Stratham was presented with the national 2012 Accredited Business Valuation ("ABV") Champion of the Year Award during the American Institute of CPA's Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Conference in Orlando, Fla., in November.
Howell is the principal with William E. Howell, a firm providing business valuation services. Howell is a board member of the New Hampshire Society of CPA's and chairman of its business valuation committee.
As an ABV Champion, he is an excellent resource for professionals in New Hampshire and Maine who would like to learn more about the ABV credential.
Langmaid earns barista certification
A&E Custom Coffee Roastery owner Emeran Langmaid has earned the Barista Guild of America's Certificate BGA-L1.
To pass the Barista Guild of America (BGA) exams, Langmaid was tested on the knowledge and skills in the sphere of coffee preparation, customer service and general knowledge. The BGA is the official trade guild of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA).
Crean honored at IMLA conference
Attorney Daniel Crean of Pembroke was honored by the International Municipal Lawyers Association at its annual conference in Austin, Texas, as the 2012-13 recipient of the William Thornton IMLA Faculty Award.
The honor recognizes a municipal lawyer who has provided outstanding service to the public and who possesses an exemplary reputation in the legal community and the highest of ethical standards, and is devoted to mentoring young lawyers and educating lawyers in local government law. Crean is a member of the faculty for IMLA's Institute for Local Government Lawyers, presents at IMLA's annual Code Enforcement Conference, and regularly presents substantive programs at IMLA's mid-year seminars and annual conferences.
In addition to receiving the Thornton Award, Crean also was designated an IMLA Fellow at the October IMLA conference.
Pereira promoted to branch manager
Joanne Pereira has been promoted to branch manager of the Hampshire First Bank's Nashua office. She is responsible for day-to-day operations of the branch, including customer service, small business lending and deposit activity as well as market growth.
Pereira, who has over 24 years of banking experience, joined Hampshire First Bank in August 2012 as assistant branch manager of the bank's Manchester office. Before that, she held customer service and management positions at Sovereign Bank in Merrimack and East Cambridge Savings Bank in Cambridge, Mass.
Paré to lead SFC's marketing department
Morgan Paré has been chosen to head up the marketing department at SFC Engineering.
Paré formerly worked for McFarland Johnson in Concord as a marketing assistant. She will be responsible for managing and implementing the company's marketing efforts as SFC's marketing coordinator.
SFC is a multi-disciplined engineering consulting firm providing Structural, Fire Protection, Civil Engineering, Accessibility Consulting, and Retaining Wall Design services to private, commercial, industrial and municipal clients for over eighteen years.
