Men accused of stealing piping in Hillsborough

HILLSBOROUGH - Two local men face burglary charges for allegedly trying to steal copper piping from the basement of a vacant house Friday, police said.

Christopher Martel, 21, was being held on $20,000 cash bail and also on a probation violation. He faces a Monday court date in the 6th Circuit Court.

Brandon Coombs, 18, was released on $20,000 personal recognizance bail and has a March 11 court date.

A neighbor reported to police around 10:10 p.m. seeing lights in the basement of the Holman Street property. Police arrested the men and determined they had been in the process of cutting and removing copper piping.
