BAE's Jeffrey Rose, of Goffstown, nominated to lead DRED

CONCORD — A former aide to former elected officials in New Hampshire has been nominated to be the state's commissioner of Resources and Economic Development.
Jeffrey Rose of Goffstown has been nominated to the post by Democratic Gov. Maggie Hassan.
He was previously an assistant to former Gov. John Sununu, an aide to former U.S. Sen. Bob Smith and state director for former U.S. Rep. Jeb Bradley. All three are Republicans.
For the past eight years, Rose has worked for BAE systems, most recently as director of public affairs for the company's electronic systems sector.
He has been active in economic development groups around the state, including a stint as chairman of the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce. Rose has also been active with the Business and Industry Association and the New England Council.
"New Hampshire has great potential for business and job growth," Rose said in a statement, adding that he is "honored" to support Hassan's "efforts to encourage innovation and create jobs."
The governor will present the nomination of Rose to the Executive Council at its meeting Wednesday.
The council must confirm the appointment.
