HAMPTON FALLS - A Hampton man wanted in connection with an armed robbery and beating of a man outside the Poker Room last week was arrested during a traffic stop Monday night.
Bryan A. Lisio, 26, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. on Route 1 in Hampton Falls by Hampton Falls police with help from the Hampton, Seabrook and Kensington police departments.
Lisio is charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of second-degree assault.
When he was spotted on Route 1 Monday night, police pulled his vehicle over and arrested him without incident.
Lisio is accused of assaulting and then robbing a 64-year-old man at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Poker Room on Jan. 31 in what police described as a random attack.
Detective Peter Fowler said the victim was walking from the parking lot into the Poker Room when he was beaten and strangled. Fowler said the victim suffered a skull fracture and was hospitalized, but has since been released.
Police Chief Robbie Dirsa commended the officers involved in the investigation and other agencies that assisted for making a quick arrest.
Lisio is being held on $50,000 cash bail at the Rockingham County jail and will be arraigned in the 10th Circuit Court in Brentwood on Tuesday.
