Alanna Marcotte was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in December and is currently at Boston Children's Hospital where Bobby Marcotte has been spending every day of the week.
On Sunday, Tuckaway Tavern will hold "The Brave Little Soul" fundraiser to help the family with medical and travel costs.
A silent and live auction will be held in the tavern, and other activities will be held at the Route 27 business from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Dining room manager Leslie Golas is the force behind the event.
"What we are trying to do is two-fold. We are trying to raise funds for him so he can participate in clinical trials, most likely out of state, and the other part is awareness . of childhood cancer," Golas said.
Golas said she is not sure how long Alanna Marcotte had been clear of cancer before she was struck again just before Christmas.
The Marcottes live in Derry and some of Alanna Marcotte's classmate are expected to attend on Sunday.
Marcotte has been with Tuckaway Tavern and Butchery since the market first opened in March 2012.
Golas said as soon as owner Paul Simbilaris found out he wanted to do something to help and almost immediately donations of auction and raffle items started coming in.
"I've never done this before so I'm really kind of shooting out in the dark, but I'm going for $25,000," Golas said of the fundraising effort. "Some of the stuff we have is pretty awesome and the response we've received is unbelievable. I hope the place is packed and you can't move in there and people feel really generous."
Auction and raffle items include autographed and certified sports memorabilia, New Hampshire vacations, and pairs of Red Sox and Bruins tickets A food buffet will be offered for donations, face-painting will be offered for children and live piano music will help keep visitors entertained.
A couple of live auctions will be held throughout the afternoon to keep things "lively," Golas said.
The silent auction winners will be called at 3:30 p.m.
The Del Tufo Schintzius Cancer Foundation of Dover is a major sponsor of the fundraiser.
Those unable to attend Sunday's event who would like to contribute can send a check to People's United Bank in Raymond, c/o "The Alanna Fund."
