North Country planning exec steps down
"I am proud of all we have done over the last 18 years for the North Country region in economic development, transportation planning and community planning," King said. "We have made an impact and it has helped our region tremendously."
King said he plans to remain in the area and spend more time with his grandchildren.
Benoit Lamontagne, president of the board of directors, said King will be missed and remembered for "how he grew and expanded the support services offered to the member communities."
A search committee is accepting resumes through Feb. 22 and is aiming to name a new executive director in mid-March.
King will remain in the position until his successor is hired.
For more information on the North Country Council, contact Lamontagne at blamontagne@dred.state.nh.us.
