ExxonMobil asks for mistrial after hydrogeologist testifies resources insufficient to fully monitor ground water for MTBE

ExxonMobil’s lawyers filed a motion Thursday for a mistrial, claiming that Beckett’s remark made it impossible for them to comply with the judge’s order to not talk about the funds the state has to clean up sites. Fauver ruled before the trial began that no mention could be made of the funds because the jury might believe the state already has the money it needs.
