Drug sweep in Nashua results in arrests of six

NASHUA - Six local residents have been arrested aftre police say they were selling drugs in the city. Those arrested include four accused of selling marijuana and ecstasy within a residence located in a city school zone.

During separate drug raids this month, authorities arrested Jason Dumayne, 25, of 9 Patten Court, Apt. 1, and Tobby Gagnon, 37, of 33 Lock St., Apt. 2. Dumayne was charged Feb. 3 with three felony counts of the unlawful sale of heroin. His bail was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

On Feb. 4, Gagnon was charged with two felony counts of the unlawful sale of heroin (second offense), and one felony count of the unlawful sale of crack cocaine (second offense). He is being held on $35,000 cash bail.

Three days later, police conducted a drug raid at 106 Vine St. that resulted in the arrests of four individuals who are accused of selling drugs in a city school zone. The school zone at Elm Street Junior High School extends 1,000 yards beyond the school buildling, and the Vine Street residence is housed within that proximity, said Lt. David Bailey, explaining none of the drugs were sold to city students.

Those arrested in that raid include Marcus Persons, 19,of 106 Vine St., Apt. 3, Kyle Norway, 19, of 106 Vine St., Apt. 1, Lorretta Julian, 18, of 106 Vine St., Apt. 1, and Aaron Sperow, 21, of 16 Blossom St., Apt. A.

Persons was charged with two counts of the unlawful sale of marijuana in a school zone and two felony counts of conspiracy to the unlawful sale of ecstasy in a school zone. Since Persons was out on bail for a separate crime, he is being held on $100,000 cash bail, according to Bailey.

Norway has been charged with two counts of the unlawful sale of marijuana in a school zone and one count of conspiracy to the unlawful sale of marijuana in a school zone.

Julian was charged with two counts of the unlawful sale of ecstasy in a school zone and one count of the unlawful sale of marijuana in a school zone. Sperow was charged with two counts of the unlawful sale of ecstasy in a school zone and two counts of conspiracy to the unlawful sale of ecstasy in a school zone.

They were arraigned Friday in the 9th Circuit Court, Nashua District Division. Excluding Persons, they were each held on $25,000 cash or surety bail.

Drugs found within the Vine Street residence are currently being analyzed at a state laboratory, according to Bailey.

"When we get information from concerned citizens, we do everything we can to alleviate the presence of drugs in the city," Bailey said Monday. Residents are urged to call the police department's narcotics hotline at 594-3597 to report illegal drug activity.
