FairPoint Energy has purchased 8,500 residential and small commercial customer accounts from PNE Energy Supply, an electricity provider for customers in New Hampshire, and will soon begin serving the acquired accounts, FairPoint announced Tuesday.
FairPoint Energy, a subsidiary of Stamford, Conn.-based Crius Energy, will continue to serve the customers under the same contract length and pricing, with additional opt-in choices, including its 100 percent green energy product. Customers will continue to be billed by the utility. The only change they will see on their utility bill is FairPoint Energy identified as their energy supplier. The acquired customers will receive a letter providing detailed information.
FairPoint Energy was created through a strategic relationship between Crius Energy and FairPoint Communications and uses the FairPoint Energy name under a license agreement.
