Sophomore point guard Kabongo Ngalukulondi hit a short jumper at the buzzer to help the Manchester Memorial boys' basketball team avoid an upset by posting a 59-57 home victory over Manchester West.
Tschiefu Ngalukulondi, Kabongo's younger brother, led the Crusaders with 18 points. The victory raised Memorial's Division I record to 9-3. Shaun Flynn tossed in a game-high 29 for West, which fell to 1-11.
Laconia 53, Gilford 41: At Laconia, center Jake Sullivan scored a game-high 19 points to help Laconia pull off the upset at home.
Aidan Dean (12 points) and Alex Clairmont (10) also scored in double figures for the Sachems, who improved to 4-12 in Division III. Josh Joyce tossed in 11 to lead Gilford, which dropped to 13-2. Gilford defeated Laconia 64-52 earlier this season.
Bedford, 72, Londonderry 65: At Bedford, Jake Capistran had 17 points, and the host Bulldogs recovered from a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat Londonderry.
Central 78, Nashua North 61:At Manchester, Central remained undefeated in Division I with a well-rounded scoring attack from Troy Pelletier (19 points), Dawson Dickson (17), Tyler Kelly (13) and Mike Plentzas (12) at Simon Gym.
Central senior Mikey Martineau, seeing his first varsity playing time, scored a basket at the buzzer to account for the final margin of victory.
Nick Makris had 12 rebounds for the Little Green (14-0).
Trinity 77, Winnacunnet 58: Mabor Gabriel scored a game-high 31 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as Trinity improved to 11-1 in Division I.
The Pioneers led 44-27 at halftime, and 58-35 entering the fourth.Rich Ruffin led Winnacunnet (6-7) with 15.
Salem 62, Spaulding 58: At Salem, Rich Ruffen scored 12 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to help Salem (5-8) pull off the upset at home.
The Blue Devils made 13 of their 14 free throw attempts in the fourth quarter.
Dominic Paradis led Spaulding (10-3) with 20.
Bishop Guertin 46, Pinkerton 45: At Derry, Kyle Galvin netted four 3-pointers and scored 19 points, and Bishop Guertin held on for a road victory in Derry.
Pinkerton's Luke Testa misfired on a 3-pointer in the final seconds, and Luke Rosinski grabbed the offensive rebound but was unable to convert. Rosinski led the Astros (4-9) with 11 points. BG improved to 10-4 in Division I.
Profile 45, Moultonborough 41: At Moultonborough, Zach Burns made three 3-pointers and scored a team-high 16 points to help Profile improve its Division IV record to 12-3.
Derryfield 51, Newmarket 47:In Manchester, Roger Larrivee scored 16 points including the game's last four points over the final 35 seconds of play.
Christian Hawkins had 18 Newmarket (14-2) including a game-tying basket with 45 seconds left. Larrivee finished with 14 rebounds and teammate Max Anderson added 10 points and nine boards for the 11-4 Cougars. Sean Fleming had 13 points for the Mules who defeated Derryfield 45-36 earlier this season.
Littleton 53, White Mountains 41: Littleton improved to 14-1 behind 18 points from Nick Whipple. and 10 each from Josh Bogardus and Freddie Vasquez. Ben Rexford led the Spartans (4-11) with 11 points.
Pembroke 78, Goffstown 37: Patrick Welch scored 26 points and Matt Persons finished with 22 as Pembroke improved to 13-0 in Division II.
Pembroke held Goffstown scoreless in the fourth quarter.
Robert White scored a team-high 20 for Goffstown (4-10.
Merrimack 54, Keene 42:In Keene, Eric Gendron matched his season high with 31 points. Earlier this season he lit up Pinkerton for 31. Brad Jarry added 11 as Merrimack.
Salem 63, Spaulding 45:At Rochester, Emily Hickey had a big night with 21 points, and Salem improved to 10-5.
Newmarket 31, Derryfield 24:In Newmarket, the Mules (12-5) were led by Maddy Teague with nine points.
Derryfield (7-10), held to two points in the second and fourth quarters, was led by Hannah Comeau with eight points and Hannah Menakaya with seven.
Hickey and Brenna Blakslee (eight points) each drained a pair of 3-pointers. Lizzy Twomey scored 11 points for the Blue Devils, who led 31-17 at the half.
Memorial 8, Pinkerton 4: Ethan Pollock scored twice and Josh Jacob turned aside 14 shots to help Manchester Memorial improve its Division I record to 11-3-0.
Giovanni Corsetto scored twice for Pinkerton, which received 47 saves from Nate Mitchell. The Astros dropped to 8-7-0.
Central 5, Salem 4 (ot):Austin Sprague had two goals and two assists while Tyler Stratton scored the game-winner 16-seconds into OT off a pass from Trevor Malmgren. Ian Beliveau had 21 saves for 9-4 Central.
