Another priority is changing the distribution formula for rooms and meals tax revenue. Woodburn said the current formula distributes rooms and meals tax revenues based on population instead of where the money is generated. Under the system, he complained that Coos County is a donor county –receiving less than its fair share of rooms and meals revenues. Woodburn said the Mount Washington Hotel is the single largest generator of rooms and meals revenue in the state.
