NEW DURHAM — A Farmington man was injured Friday when he shot himself in the foot during a hunting accident, according to the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

A department release said Bernard Ahearn, 56, was hunting coyote in the woods near Old Bay Road about 2:30 p.m. Friday when he shot himself in the foot with a 22-caliber semi-automatic rifle. Ahearn was able to walk from the woods to his car, then drove to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

He was treated for his injury and released, Fish and Game said.
