NHIAA Roundup: Wilson leads Londonderry boys; Bedford rolls

Rob Wilson made seven of his eight field goal attempts and finished with a game-high 17 points as the Londonderry boys' basketball team beat visiting Timberlane of Plaistow, 71-38, on Tuesday night.

The Lancers improved to 5-11 in Division I. Cameron Donnelly led Timberlane (0-16) with 11.

Bedford 69, Dover 58: In Bedford, Cam Meservey collected 15 points and Taylor Grande netted 11 for the 9-6 Bulldogs. Sam Stanton added 10 points in the win. Colin Shaughnessy netted 16 points in the loss for 7-8 Dover.

Salem 57, Exeter 53 (ot): In Salem, Steve Nugent scored 22 points including all 10 of Salem's points in the fourth quarter to force overtime. Jack Hartman nailed a three-point shot in overtime for 6-9 Salem. Max Medley had 12 points for 7-8 Exeter while teammate Tyler Russ finished with 13 points including all five of his team's overtime points.

Memorial 63, Pinkerton 49: At Manchester, senior guard Zoubel Iradukunda tossed in a season-high 31 points as Memorial raised its Division I record to 11-4. Memorial led by four at halftime, but scored 39 points in the final two quarters.

Spaulding 63, Merrimack 51: At Rochester, senior center Dominic Paradis scored 17 points, including the 1,000th point of his high school career, as the Red Raiders raised their Division I record to 12-3. Paradis collected his 1,000th point on a free throw in the fourth quarter. He was 11-for-11 from the free throw line. The loss dropped Merrimack's record to 11-5.

Trinity 72, Nashua North 54: In Manchester, Carmen Giampetruzzi scored 23 points and gathered 14 rebounds to lead the 13-1 Pioneers. Wenjin Gabriel contributed 11 rebounds and nine points while Ryan Otis canned three three-point shots and finished with 13 points. Jordan Lates of Nashua North (3-12) carved out 25 points.

Keene 78, West 53: In Manchester, Zach Theriault scored 17 points for West, as five of his six field goals were three-point shots. Zack Jones had 12 points and Nalan Flynn added 16 in the loss for West, 1-14.

Pembroke 52, Windham 48: Matt Persons scored 15 and Pat Welch added 14 to help the Spartans remain unbeaten (15-0) in Division II. Tucker Lippold led Windham (7-8) with 25.

Gilford 51, Prospect Mountain 38: Sophomore point guard Josh Joyce made a living in three-point territory Tuesday night. Joyce canned four three-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points to help host Gilford past Prospect Mountain of Alton in a Division III boys' contest. Senior center Dave Sykie added 13 for 15-2 Gilford. The loss dropped Prospect Mountain's record to 11-6.

Oyster River 35, Coe-Brown 33: At Northwood, Nick Lazar made a 3-pointer with six seconds to play as Oyster River improved to 12-4 in Division II. The loss dropped Coe-Brown's record to 8-7.

Girls' basketball

Pinkerton 64, Memorial 40: At Derry, Val Martin scored 18 points and the Astros improved to 15-2 in Division I. Allie Hartford scored 17 to lead Memorial.

Keene 48, Trinity 44: On Monday in Manchester, Allie Yeaw scored 19 points and Cate Rooney added 12 for the 7-10 Blackbirds. Trinity trailed 27-15 at halftime and 34-23 after three periods, but tied the game on a three-point basket from Lizzy Meehan with 90 seconds to play. Meehan scored 15 points for Trinity (4-12) while Elizabeth Graveline added 11. Keene scored 12 of its 14 fourth quarter points from the free throw line.

Salem 64, Exeter 58: In Exeter, Brenna Blakslee tallied 18 points and Allie Sirmaian canned three three-point shots for 14 points to lead 11-6 Salem. Emily Hickey netted 12 points in the win. For Exeter (7-10), McKayla McQuade led all scorers with 23 points.

Colebrook 75, Nute 31: At Colebrook, senior point guard Josee Brunhault tossed in a game-high 25 points as Colebrook advanced with a victory in the Division IV tournament's preliminary round. Colebrook will be at home against Newmarket in Friday's quarterfinals.

Pittsfield 31, Derryfield 18: At Pittsfield, Brooke Zien tossed in a team-high eight points to help fifth-seeded Pittsfield (15-4) advance in the Division IV tournament's preliminary round. Hannah Menakaya scored eight to lead 12th-seeded Derryfield (7-12).
