Two injured in Rochester crash

ROCHESTER - Two men suffered serious injuries in a two-car crash on Route 16 Sunday afternoon.

State police said they were dispatched Sunday at approximately 3:40 p.m. to investigate a crash on Route 16 near mile marker 24.8. Police say a Ford F-150, operated by John Sousa, 65, of Attleboro, Mass., traveling northbound, and a Toyota 4 Runner, operated by Bradford Hammond, 28, traveling southbound, crashed when the F-150 crossed the center lane, colliding with the Toyota.

A section of Route 16 was closed for over an hour. Both drivers were transported to Frisbee Memorial Hospital in Rochester with what fire officials termed 'critical' injuries.

State police were assisted by the Milton Police Department, and the Rochester police and fire departments.
