GOFFSTOWN - A natural gas line was struck during snow removal at Crossroads Auto Body Monday afternoon, leading to the release of gas and evacuation of about two dozen people in the area.

Fire Chief Richard O'Brien said crews responded to 733 Mast Road about 4:30 p.m.

"It was a lot of gas, but our crews did a great job in dispersing it," O'Brien said.

Mast Road was closed at Roosevelt Avenue to Pinard Square for about an hour, he said.

Liberty Gas was called to repair the high-pressure side of the natural gas feed into the building, according to the chief.
