NH's Locke starts against Sox
The southpaw worked three innings and was saddled with the loss after yielding three earned runs on four hits. He issued two walks and had three strikeouts at JetBlue Park.
In the first inning, Mike Napoli ripped a one-hopper up the middle that ricocheted off Locke's right shin, but the Pirates starter remained in the game and eventually struck out Daniel Nava and Ryan Lavarnway to end the inning. Last weekend, in his first outing of the spring, Locke pitched three scoreless innings and picked up a win against the Rays. The 25-year-old is vying for a spot in Pittsburgh's starting rotation.
