Education network names 4 to boards



CONCORD - The NHHEAF Network Organizations have elected four new members to the board. The organizations are comprised of three separate organizations: the New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corp., New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, and Granite State Management & Resources, which provide local families free support and funding for higher education.

Elected to the Loan Corp. board was Suzanne K. Mellon, executive vice president of Saint Anselm College. Mellon has served in this role since 2009, functioning as the chief operating officer and serving as second in command to the president.



Three members elected to the NHHEAF board include Todd Emmons, vice president of finance and treasurer at Colby-Sawyer College; Deborah Scire, executive director of Campus Compact for New Hampshire; and Steven Soba, assistant vice president of marketing and student recruitment at Southern New Hampshire University.

Emmons has served as vice president of administrative services and chief financial officer at Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester, Mass., as well as vice president of finance and operations at Elms College in Chicopee, Mass., and vice president of finance and operations at Daniel Webster College.

Scire has served as the executive director of Campus Compact of New Hampshire since February 2004, previously serving as the associate director from 1997 until 2004. Soba previously served as the director of undergraduate day admission at SNHU as well as dean of admission for the College of St. Joseph, where he also held the role of director of admission.



Kearsarge principal named to UVEI post



Kevin Johnson, formerly principal for 18 years of Kearsarge Regional Elementary School in New London, has been appointed associate director for school leadership and masters studies at the Upper Valley Educators Institute, where he will direct the organization's Principal Internship Program and its masters programs.



At UVEI, Johnson will be the lead administrator for the Principal Internship Program, which is now in its fourth year, as well as join the program's faculty. He will direct UVEI's Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Education programs. He earned an Ed.D. in educational leadership from William Howard Taft University, a CAGS from the University of New Hampshire, and, from Plymouth State College, a master's in education, elementary education certification and a bachelor's degree in social science education.
