College Sports Roundup: UNH, Dartmouth women's hockey teams bounced

Providence College rallied from three goals down to force overtime and an eventual 5-4 win over the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team in Hockey East quarterfinal action at Whittemore Center in Durham on Saturday.

The Friars (15-15-5) advanced to the semifinals, while the Wildcats season comes to a close with a 14-16-4 overall record.

Harvard 4, Dartmouth 0: The Big Green lost the second game of the best-of-three ECAC Hockey Tournament quarterfinal series to No. 6 Harvard 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge, Mass.





Women's basketball



University of New Hampshire 86, Maine 63: At Orono, Maine, Kelsey Hogan (Nashua) recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and career-high 11 rebounds to lead UNH. New Hampshire will be the No. 5 seed of the America East tournament on Friday.



Women's lacrosse



Dartmouth 10, Yale 6: At New Haven, Conn., the 12th-ranked Dartmouth team opened up a lead and never looked back Saturday in both teams' Ivy League opener. Senior Hana Bowers had four goals for Dartmouth (3-0).



Softball



Dartmouth 2, George Washington 1: At Washington, D.C., Dartmouth rallied for a seventh inning win in second day action at the Colonial Classic.



Men's hockey



St. Anselm 5, Franklin Pierce 2: At Manchester, a goal and an assist by junior forward Joe Tebano and a 46-21 shots on goal advantage led the Hawks at Sullivan Arena Satuday, giving St. Anselm its fourth consecutive Northeast-10 title.

Senior forward Michael Carr and freshman forward Matt Batis each scored goals for the Franklin Pierce (9-12-3) in the program's first trip to the final round.

The Hawks (16-8-3) have participated in 13 of the 14 Northeast-10 finals and captured the eighth conference banner in program history.



Men's lacrosse



Georgetown 10, Dartmouth 9: Dartmouth could not hold a two-goal fourth quarter lead on Saturday, falling to Georgetown in the 2013 Patriot Cup at Texas. The Big Green are now 1-2.

Molloy 16, Southern New Hampshire 10: At Manchester, Joe Leonard finished with three goals and seven assists to lead Molloy College to a 16-10 men's lacrosse victory over SNHU.

Keene State 11, RPI 9: At Keene, the Owls opened the season with a come-from-behind win.



Baseball



Dartmouth 1, Northern Illinois 0: At Minneapolis, Minn., junior Ryan Toimil hit a two-out home run to right field at the Metrodome in the seventh inning, providing the only run of the game.



Track and field



University of New Hampshire: At Boston, junior Kevin Greene advanced the finals of the mile and the Wildcats' 4x800 meter relay team broke a school record and advanced to the finals as the UNH men's team took part in the second day of the IC4A Championships Saturday.

Keene State: Several Owls set school record at the Tufts University Last Chance meet in Medford, Mass. Saturday. Senior Maggie Fitter finished second in the 600 with a school record time of 1:35.81. Junior Ryan Widzgowski ran the 800 and placed seventh with a personal best time of 1:55.94.
