MANCHESTER - The Manchester man nabbed on a robbery charge after two city teens followed his getaway car has four robbery convictions on his record, police said today.
Meanwhile, a third co-conspirator - the alleged robber's niece - appeared in court on a conspiracy charge related to the robbery. And records show that the getaway driver is a welfare recipient attending trade school to study medical billing.
Two were arrested early Monday after a Manchester teenager, Victor Rosario, walked in on a robbery at the Mammoth Road CVS pharmacy.
Rosario and his step-brother tailed the robber, who left the store on bicycle and then hopped into a car.
Police arrested the passenger and driver in Derry early Monday morning. Seth Skillin, 32, was charged with robbery. Police disclosed his record, which also includes drug possession, in court on Tuesday, hoping for a high bail.
Skillin, who is unemployed and lives with his step-father at 407 Shasta St. was ordered held on $25,000 bail. His public defender said he would not be able to afford any cash or surety bail.
The driver of the car, Robbi O'Rourke, 24, is on Temporary Aid to Needy Families, the state's main welfare program, her lawyer said.
She is studying medical billing at Seacoast Career School, studying medical billing, and her criminal record consists of theft in 2007 and drug possession in 2008.
Lawyer Carl Olson said O'Rourke wasn't in on the planning of the robbery. "She was giving somebody a ride," he said.
District Court Judge Gregory Michael released O'Rourke on her own recognizance.
Police announced the arrest of O'Rourke and Skillin on Tuesday.
During the arraignment, however, a third defendant appeared -- Monique Teal, 24, who is Skillin's niece and also lives at his 407 Shasta St. address.
Teal has no criminal record, but has a felony theft charge pending against her on an unrelated matter.
Police prosecutor Lt. Peter Favreau said police believe Teal was behind the original plan and recruited the driver.
While waiting in the car with O'Rourke during the robbery, she reassured O'Rourke not to worry, O'Rourke later told police. Skillin had done this before, O'Rourke recounted to police.
Teal was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and released on her own recognizance.
