Wolfeboro man charged with attempting to strangle wife

OSSIPEE - A Wolfeboro man faces felony charges after he allegedly tried to strangle his wife last June.

A Carroll County grand jury on Tuesday handed up one felony count of second degree assault and two counts of simple assault against Daniel Walsh, 48, of Wolfeboro. According to the indictments, Walsh tried to strangle the victim on June 6, 2012 by "placing his hands around her neck and squeezing, impeding her ability to breath." The two counts of simple assault allege that he also grabbed the victim's arms and shoved her into a bathroom wall.

Walsh faces arraignment on the charges on March 13 at Carroll County Superior Court in Ossipee.
