NHIAA Div. II Girls' Basketball Championship: Lebanon holds off Portsmouth
The top-ranked Raiders (24-0 overall) took a four-point lead into the fourth quarter and held off No. 2 Portsmouth (18-4) as four-year varsity players Kehoe and Moriah Morton each had key baskets. Christina Jones hit a pair of free throws with 3:20 remaining as Portsmouth cut the deficit to 44-39, but Morton quickly went to work on the low post to hold off the Clippers.
High-powered Lebanon established a 25-7 lead before the Clippers battled back in the second quarter, trimming the deficit to 28-24 by halftime. The Raiders, entering the contest, had won every game this season by at least 15 points. Portsmouth's Alicia Brown and Lebanon's Heather King traded baskets at the end of the third quarter, and the Raiders took a 37-33 lead into the final stanza.
