High speed chase ends with car out of gas on I-293

MANCESTER - A 26-year-old Manchester man was arrested early this morning after allegedly leading police on a car chase at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour before his Honda Civic sputtered to a stop on I-293 in Manchester out of gas.
Joshua Blodgett, 26, was arrested and charged with aggravated drunken driving and other offenses after a chase that began in Windham. Police tried to pull the car over, but the driver sped away on Route 111 westbound. Londonderry police joined the chase as Blodgett headed toward Route 102, where Derry police cruisers also picked up the pursuit.

The car eluded police and ended up in a Route 102 driveway where it was located by State Police. The car took off again, headed up I-93 north, took the ramp to I-293 north and shortly thereafter ran out of fuel.

Police caught up with the car and arrested Blodgett and placed a female companion in protective custody.

In addition to the drunk driving, Blodgett has been charged with operating after suspension, disobeying a police officer, reckless conduct and resisting arrest.

Bail was set at $5,000 cash. Blodgett will face arraignment in Manchester District Court.
