Guarino wins board seat in Gilmanton

GILMANTON – Donald J. Guarino won a close race to fill the seat of outgoing board member Rachel M. Frechette Hatch.
 
Guarino's 411 votes topped Elizabeth A. Abbott's 344 votes to win the seat.
 
Two warrant articles dealing with the fire department were defeated. Article 27 asked voters for $22,000 to be deposited in the capital reserve ambulance fund, recommended by the budget committee. It failed by 10 votes, 359-369.
 
Article 28 asked voters for $85,000 for the Capital Reserve Fire Engine Fund. Voters chose against, voting the article down, 307-423.
