GILFORD – In a tight race for three budget committee seats, Jeffrey Beane, Robert J. Henderson, Jr., and David Robert Horvath won.
Beans had 482 votes, Horvath had 431 votes and Henderson had 409 votes. Losing was Donald H. Pangburn with 400 votes.
In the race for fire engineer, John "Jack" T. Lyman had 427 votes to win a close race with Philip "Pat" Labonte, who had 332 votes.
In another tight race for two seats on the school board, Karen S. Thurston won election with 541 votes, as did Allan S. Demko with 423 votes. Losing was Rae M. Mello-Andrews with 359 votes.
Most warrant articles passed. Failing was Article 7, by a vote of 312-412, which asked for a zoning amendment limiting the cutting of trees and usage of pesticides on town water bodies; and Article 19, which would have amended the formula for the Ambulance Service Revolving Fund, which failed 370-387.
Article 26, which would have changed the town clerk-tax collector position to having an appointed tax collector, failed 98-638.
