Billy's claims first place in Manchester over-40 hockey league

In Manchester 40-Plus Hockey League action, Billy's Sports Bar & Grill rallied from a three-goal deficit and claimed first place with a 7-4 win over LeClerc State Farm Insurance. Scott Legasse tallied twice for the winners, who also got singletons from Al Chouinard, Dave Chaput, Glenn Wiggin, The' Nguyen and league-leading scorer, Yvan Houde.

LeClerc had jumped into the lead with goals from Dave Robidoux, Mike McGaffigan, Bob Camire and Gene Berg. Goalie Jonathan Komarek earned the win for Billy's, turning aside 31 shots. Rocky Desrosiers had 34 saves for LeClerc.

Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium beat Billy's Sports Bar & Grill 6-3. Glen Williams paced the winners with two goals, followed by Craig Beck with one goal and two assists. Butch Greenwood and Steve Meisel scored, with Jeff Champagne securing the win with an empty net goal.

Atlas got goals from Mark Myrdek, Kelly Morgan and Paul Kelley. Marc Forest had 26 saves for Phaneuf. Dave Anstey had 25 saves for Atlas.

Desrosiers posts shutout

LeClerc State Farm Insurance beat Atlas Precision Metal Fabricators 6-0 as Rocky Desrosiers recorded his second consecutive shutout.

He became only the second goalie to do so in the league's 13-year history, turning aside all 26 shots. Jeb Sayer led the LeClerc offense with three goals and an assist. Steve Smith had a goal and two assists. Mike McGaffigan added a goal and an assist. Mike Gamache also scored for LeClerc. Paul St Onge had 27 saves for Atlas.

Billy's Sports Bar & Grill knocked off CTO, 7-4. Yvan Houde, the league's leading scorer, led the way for the winners with three goals. Also scoring for Billy's were Ron Lavoie, Joe Ouellet, Jim Kelly and The' Nguyen.

John Cail chipped in with three assists while Scott Legasse added two. CTO got two goals from Doug Martin and one each from teammates Ritchie Philippon and Eric Grant. Eric Lajeunesse had two helpers for CTO. Ken Dean earned the win with 27 saves. Sean Sullivan had 20 saves for CTO.

CTO is OK

Complete Team Outfitters defeated Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 4-0. CTO was led by Grant and Mike Desmond, each with a goal and two assists. Rick Crocker and Artie Drew also scored on goalie Scott Greer (23 saves).

Billy's posted a 6-2 win against Atlas Precision Metal Fabricators. Houde had two goals and two assists. Cail had one goal and three assists. Al Chouinard and Ron Lavoie rounded out the scoring for the winners. Dave Park and Steve Yabroudy tallied for Atlas.

Ken Dean had 20 saves for the win. Dave Anstey had 21 saves for Atlas.
