WOLFEBORO - The head of Carroll County's probation department is asking the public to be on the lookout for a fugitive from justice who violated his parole and is wanted for a burglary in Maine.
The fugitive is Ricky Davis, 50, who was convicted and sentenced in Strafford and Carroll County Superior Courts in October 2003 for charges that included burglary, attempt to commit burglary and theft. He received a sentence of 5 to 30 years in the New Hampshire State Prison and was ordered to pay $12,662 in restitution.
According to Carroll County Chief Probation/Parole Officer Chuck Wolfert, Davis is alleged to have committed another burglary in Parsonsfield, Maine. He has an active warrant due to the Maine charge as well as a warrant for violating parole in New Hampshire.
The parole violation alleges failure to be of good conduct, obey all laws, and failure to report an address change.
Wolfert said Davis' prior convictions include multiple burglaries, breaking and entering, receiving stolen property, possession of burglary tools, theft, attempted theft, possession of a controlled drug, resisting arrest, false report, assault and battery on a police officer, assault with a dangerous weapon, operating to endanger and destruction of property.
Davis' last known whereabouts include Effingham, Ossipee and Rochester. He has dark brown hair, brown eyes, is 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He may have recently shaved his head to hide his identity, according to Wolfert.
Anyone who knows Davis' whereabouts should contact Wolfert at 569-0124, ext. 2, or your local police department. Callers may remain anonymous.
Wolfert urged the public not to attempt to apprehend Davis, who should be considered armed and dangerous.
In other fugitive updates, Wolfert said that an alert released in August 2012 has led to an arrest of another fugitive, Douglas Buck.
Buck was apprehended in Portland, Maine, Feb. 23 while attempting to buy alcohol at a convenience store. After making a verbal complaint to a police officer regarding his request for alcohol, the officer discovered the Carroll County Probation Department warrant and placed him in custody.
Buck, 36, was convicted and sentenced in Ossipee District Court in August 2011 for simple assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. He received a sentence of 12 months in the House of Corrections, all but 37 days suspended, one year of supervised probation, and was ordered to pay $734 in restitution.
After he was released on probation, Buck is alleged to have committed another assault and is also wanted for fraudulent use of a credit card and receiving stolen property. His prior arrests include simple assault, escape, failure to appear, operating under the influence, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled drug, breach of bail, and criminal mischief.
