Employers must report NHRS retirees' hours

CONCORD - The House Wednesday passed legislation that requires employers to report to the New Hampshire Retirement System the number of hours a member of the retirement system works on a part-time basis.

The bill originally reduced the number of hours that retirement system retirees could work for employers in the retirement system from 32 to 24 hours per week, and from a total of 1,300 hours annually to 1,000 hours annually.

The Executive Departments and Administration Committee recommended the bill be amended into a reporting requirement, saying it will "provide valuable information regarding NHRS retirees."

The bill now goes to the state Senate.
