Loudon man charged with firing bullets into Concord home

STEVEN MAXFIELD

CONCORD - A Loudon man is under arrest, accused of firing shots into a home on Longmeadow Drive in January.

Steven Maxfield, 18, of Route 129, was arrested Friday afternoon and charged with reckless conduct, placing another in danger, a Class B felony.

Police said the homeowner discovered bullet holes in his house Jan. 21 and called police, who discovered a total of five gunshot holes in the building. Some of the bullets had penetrated the interior of the home.

One of the residents recalled hearing what sounded like firecrackers outside about a week before the damage was discovered. An adult and teenager were home at that time. No one was injured in the incident.

Detectives, working with Loudon police, investigated the incident for about a month and on Friday obtained search warrants for Maxfield's residence and a second Loudon home. Police said they recovered evidence connected to the shooting in those searches.

Maxfield is being held on $50,000 cash bail pending arraignment Monday in 6th Circuit Court, Concord District Division.
