Taxpayer subsidies to colleges on decline nationwide, with NH leading the way

The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, based in Washington, D.C., released its report Tuesday on a study of the challenge of reinvesting in public higher education systems after years of cuts. In New Hampshire, those cuts were among the deepest in the nation, according to Phil Oliff, a policy analyst and primary author of the report. Oliff held a conference call with reporters from around the nation to explain the findings and the effects of the "severe and very widespread" cuts to higher education funding.
