NH jobless rate remains 5.8 percent
New Hampshire's preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2013 was 5.8 percent, unchanged from the January rate, which remained at 5.8 percent after revision, New Hampshire Employment Security said Tuesday. The February 2012 seasonally adjusted rate was 5.3 percent.
Seasonally adjusted estimates for February 2013 placed the number of employed residents at 701,950, a decrease of 370 from the previous month and a decrease of 460 from February 2012.
The number of unemployed residents decreased by 290 over-the-month to 43,000 - 3,570 more than in February 2012. From January to February 2013, the total labor force decreased by 660 to 744,950, an increase of 3,110 from February 2012.
Entrepreneur of the Year nominations
MANCHESTER - The New Hampshire High Tech Council has extended its application and nomination deadline for its annual Entrepreneur of the Year award to Friday.
The celebration will be held May 6 at the Radisson Hotel/Center of New Hampshire in Manchester and marks the 25th anniversary of the award.
"The list of past winners is really a who's who of technology innovators that have created tens of thousands of jobs and advanced innovation in many ways locally and nationally," said Matt Cookson, the council's executive director.

Liquor commission creates e-cookbook
CONCORD - The New Hampshire Liquor Commission has published its first-ever e-cookbook featuring recipes from New Hampshire restaurants, along with wine and spirit pairings.
The free "In the Mix" e-cookbook was inspired by NHLC's new "In the Mix Kitchen Series," a weekly food and wine event series. The cookbook may be downloaded at www.LiquorandWineOutlets.com/mix.
