Waterville Valley skiers shine at junior national championships


 

Julia Krass of Hanover, Hannah Fernades of Waterville Valley, Luke O'Brien of Wolfeboro Falls and Tyler Mega of Meredith and were among the top medalists at the 2013 USSA Freestyle Junior National Championships in Park City, Utah, recently.
The Waterville Valley Black & Blue Trail Smashers Snowsports Educational Foundation sent 21 athletes to the competition, which featured freestyle skiing disciplines of slope style, half pipe, moguls and aerials.

Krass took home a silver in slope style and half pipe, while Fernandes won silver in big and aerials.
Mega won silver in slope style, and O'Brien won a bronze in big air. Age group medalists included Jackson Hipple of Center Tuftonboro, Melanie Harding of Meredith and Hunter Henderson of Madbury.
