The seminar will be led by Dr. John Hopkins, owner of Bellamy & Watson Fields, assisted living facilities in Dover, and a gerontologist who has pioneered treatment and care for Alzheimer's and dementia patients.
Dr. Hopkins will talk about memory loss; symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia; causes and risk factors; how to determine if it is Alzheimer's or dementia; benefits of early detection; stages of the disease; treatment options; and resources for families who are living with dementia and Alzheimer's.

Manchester NARFE Chapter to meet Thursday
MANCHESTER - The Manchester Chapter of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association will meet Thursday at American Legion Sweeney Post 2, 251 Maple St. The doors will open at 1 p.m., and the meeting will start at 1:30 p.m.
All members and prospective members are welcome.
The speaker will be Thomas Bonito, a retired pharmacy operations manager at the Manchester VA Medical Center. He will talk about VA pharmacy benefits for veterans and will take questions from the members. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
Littleton center plans Easter lunch April 1
LITTLETON - Littleton Area Senior Center, 77 Riverglen Lane, will have its traditional Easter lunch on Monday, April 1. Seniors who wear an Easter bonnet will be eligible for a prize. A game also is planned before lunch.
On Tuesday, April 2, the center will celebrate a belated April Fool's Day with joke-telling, including a vote on the best joke of the year.
The center offers watercolor art classes every Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. with Kristine Lingle. Supplies are available for beginners. The cost is $8 per class.

Bedford Seniors group to celebrate baseball
BEDFORD - The Bedford Seniors will celebrate baseball with a catered lunch during its next meeting at noon Tuesday, April 9, at the Bedford Presbyterian Church. Members are encouraged to wear baseball caps and shirts. The cost is $16. To sign up, call Jo at 623-7073.
Each month, members bring food donations for the Salvation Army. Next month's request is for instant potatoes.

The AARP Driver Safety Program has announced the April lineup for its driving refresher course. The usually two-part class costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Preregistration is required.

Diabetic shoe clinic offered at Cashin center
MANCHESTER - A diabetic shoe clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, at the Cashin Senior Center, 151 Douglas St.
Diabetics on Medicare are entitled to one pair of therapeutic shoes, plus inserts, each calendar year, paid for by Medicare. Seniors can pick a shoe style and get measured for shoes at the clinic. All widths will be available.

Series on meditation starts April 1 at Chapin center
NEW LONDON - Chapin Senior Center of Kearsarge Council on Aging, 37 Pleasant St., is hosting a series of classes and workshops on body awareness and meditation with Cathy Todd.
Classes will be from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Mondays, April 1 to 29. Meditation workshops will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Wednesdays, April 3 to 24. Todd says she will respond to the needs of those in attendance, and there's no need to sit cross-legged on the floor. Her goal is to help seniors start a regular practice of meditating 15 minutes a day.
A five-week watercolor painting workshop is scheduled for 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, April 2, and from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesdays, April 9 to 30. The classes, led by Eleanor MacNicoll, are for those who have an interest in painting and who have some experience in art. The workshop will include landscapes, still life, florals and people. RiverWoods program to focus on timing for a move
EXETER - RiverWoods, a continuing care retirement community, will host its next "Three-Course Conversations with Residents" from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at its Ridge campus, 10 White Oak Drive.
These luncheon programs are for people curious about what life is really like at a retirement community.
The topic will be "Timing, Timing, Timing: Knowing How & When You're Ready," with the discussion focusing on when to make a move.
This program will feature a three-course luncheon and three sets of guest panelists: residents Howard and Suzanna Ulfelder, Janet Phypers and George Miller.
