Man stabbed outside Manchester store; attacker gone

MANCHESTER - A man was stabbed outside the Seven-11 on Beech Street, after getting into a fight with an unknown assailant, police reported.

Police said both people had left the convenience store by the time they arrived at the scene. But a short time later, police were called to the emergency room at the Elliot Hospital, where the victim was receiving treatment for an apparent stab wound to the chest, police said.

The person said he became involved in the dispute, and it escalated into a fight when the stabbing occurred.

The attacker is described as a white male about 30 years old, heavy set and bald. He wore a black jacket and black sweatpants and was last seen running south on Beech Street. He may have been injured in the head during the fight.
