MADISON - A search for a 24-year-old man, reported missing Sunday night when didn't return home after a six-hour trek in nearby woods, ended early Sunday morning after he walked out of the woods and returned home.

According to state Fish and Game, a search was launched for Curtis Yule Sunday night after he failed to return to his Madison Village home by nightfall. Yule had gone into the woods behind his home about 3:30 p.m., possibly heading for Blue Pond about a half-mile from his home.

When he didn't return by nightfall, he was reported missing. Fish and Game was called at 9:30 p.m. and conservation officers, including a department K-9 team along with Madison police officers, began searching for him in a large wooded area.

The search continued throughout the night and into the early morning hours on Monday.

At 1 a.m., Yule made his way out of the woods to North Division Road and then walked home where his mother was waiting for him. She notified authorities of his return.
