NH College Roundup: Rivier, Keene State players all-NH

Rivier's College Tom Poitras of Bow joined player of the year Ryan Martin and two of his teammates from Keene State College on the All-New Hampshire Division III men's basketball team.

Martin and Poitras were joined on the first team by Anthony Mariano and Rashad Wright of Keene State, and Mike Dias of Colby-Sawyer. The second team included Plymouth State's Alex Burt of Dover and Petey Skevas, Eric Fazio of Keene State, Nick Walch of Rivier and John Hickson of Daniel Webster.

Colby-Sawyer's Wol Majong of Manchester was named rookie of the year and Rob Colbert of Keene State was named coach of the year.

Taylor DeSanty of Colby-Sawyer was named the women's player of the year and was joined on the first team by Rivier's Deanna Purcell of Hudson, Siobhan Carnell of Keene State, Cailin Bullett of Colby-Sawyer and Vanessa Bosques of Daniel Webster. The second team consisted of Kayla Lawlor and Kate Levy of New England College, A.J. Guidi of Rivier, Kelsey Cahill of Colby-Sawyer and Keene State's Christan Wojtas of Amherst.

Daniel Webster freshman Ashley Giampetruzzi of Manchester was named rookie of the year, while George Martin of Colby-Sawyer was the coach of the year.

Baseball

St. Anselm 3-4, Pace 8-1: At Pleasantville, N.Y., freshman pitcher Tom Hudon of Merrimack allowed four hits over seven innings in the nightcap to help the Hawks (7-10-1, 3-1) gain a Northeast-10 Conference split with the Setters (11-6, 3-1) on Sunday.

Golf

Dartmouth women third in one-day tournament: At Hilton Head, S.C., the Big Green finished third out of 16 teams at the rain-shortened Low Country Intercollegiate. Dartmouth's Sarah Knapp shared medalist honors with a six-over par round of 78.

Big Green men finish 19th in opener: In Greenville, S.C., senior James Pleat of Nashua finished 28th individually as Dartmouth came in 19th out 21 teams at the Furman Intercollegiate that ended Sunday. Pleat shot five-over 221 over 54 holes at the Furman University Golf Course.

Softball

Malloy 4-13, SNHU 2-7: In New Haven, Conn., Lindsey Bolduc of Londonderry hit her second homer, but it wasn't enough to stop SNHU (6-4) from being swept by the Lions (16-4).

Honors

Smith leads KSC Hall inductees: Lisbon native Kelly Smith, a former field hockey All-America and two-time LEC player of the year, leads this year's inductees into the KSC Hall of Fame.

FPU's Lambert cops track award: Freshman Alyssa Lambert of Manchester (Salem) was named Northeast-10 rookie of the week in women's track after topping a field that included eight Division I runners to win the 1,500 at the Wagner Invitational.

PSU's goalie takes lax honor: Junior Lorin Field of Hollis (Hollis-Brookline) was named the LEC women's goalie of the week after going 2-0 for the Panthers, making 11 saves against Colorado College and 10 in a win against Pacific.

KSC's Wheeler earns track honors: Keene State College sophomore Kaitlin Wheeler of Exeter was named LEC track athlete of the week after winning the 10,000 at the Connecticut College Invitational.
