College sports roundup: Wilson, Durocher pitch Daniel Webster to win

Senior Amanda Wilson of Merrimack and sophomore Sarah Durocher of Keene were dominating in the circle Friday as the Daniel Webster College softball team swept Maine-Presque Isle at Eagle Field. The Eagles (4-8) won the first game 4-1 as Wilson allowed four hits and struck out nine, and completed the sweep with a 10-0 win in the second game as Durocher allowed five hits and struck out seven. Both pitchers went the distance.

Keene State 6-6, Old Westbury 1-5: At Keene, freshman Stephanie Long of Salem had a walk-off home run in the opener and Meryl Ragaini drove in four runs with a home run and double in the nightcap as the Owls (7-7) swept the Panthers (7-9) in a non-conference doubleheader.

UMass Lowell 7-4, Franklin Pierce 1-2: At Lowell, Mass., the Ravens (2-6, 0-2) managed just seven hits as they were swept by the River Hawks (7-13, 2-0). Kathryn Donovan of Hudson (Alvirne) had a double and drove in two runs for UMass Lowell in the opener.



Baseball



Franklin Pierce 6, UMass Lowell 5: At Rindge, Matt O'Herron had three hits and scored what proved to be the winning run in the of the sixth as the Ravens (14-9, 4-0 NE-10) rallied past the River Hawks (12-7, 0-1). Garrett Cole of Bedford (Trinity) pitched into the sixth for UMass Lowell.

Daniel Webster 5-1, Lesley 4-6: At Smithfield, R.I., Tyler Bonin of Litchfield (Campbell) had a pair of hits and drove in three runs in the opener as the Eagles (7-5, 4-1) split a NECC doubleheader with the Lynx.



Women's lacrosse



Le Moyne 17, SNHU 3: At Syracuse, N.Y., a five-game win streak came to a halt for the Penmen (5-4, 4-1 NE-10) and the ninth-ranked Dolphins (4-2, 2-1) jumped out to a 12-1 lead and never looked back. SNHU's Phoebe Clark of Concord scored a goal to become the 13th player in program history to reach 100 career points.



Men's lacrosse



FPU 16, AIC 10: At Springfield, Mass., freshman Casey Burnett of Windham scored a career-high six goals for the Ravens (3-3, 2-2 NE-10)

Women's tennis


Franklin Pierce 7, St. Rose 2: At Milford, sophomore Emily Parrett of Amherst (Souhegan) rallied to win in three sets at No. 3 singles as the Ravens (2-5, 1-5 NE-10) won their first match of the spring season.
