Nashua officials want more info on teacher absence data

Today, public employee unions – from teachers and support staff to police and fire personnel – receive 10 or more paid sick days annually. And to Ryder, the very notion of what previous unions fought for has been tipped on its head. "I am for the original intention 100 percent, but I am not for saving days to be paid in cash, nor am I in favor of saving those days to be taken in the form of severance pay."
